The freelance artist Bert Mario Temme, who lives and works in Berlin, combines a high level of instrumental expertise with a profound understanding of the voice in his artistic work. He received his professional musical training at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin and the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre Leipzig. He has also actively participated in numerous masterclasses, including with Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Hartmut Höll, Peter Feuchtwanger and Bernd Weikl.
Thanks to his dual qualifications, he is regarded as a particularly sensitive, stylistically versatile and singer-friendly pianist. His extensive experience in musical preparation and rehearsal work is reflected in a wide-ranging theatrical and pedagogical practice. Bert Mario Temme has worked as a répétiteur at the Staatstheater Cottbus, the Brandenburg Theatre and the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy Music School.

His piano repertoire ranges from original Baroque and Classical repertoire and the great German song tradition to complex opera scores and demanding light-entertainment repertoire. His extensive concert and stage career has taken him to renowned venues and institutions including the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin, Berlin Philharmonie and Leipzig Opera, as well as on international engagements in the USA, Japan, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Alongside his stage work, he regularly contributes to radio and television productions, including those of ZDF, RBB, MDR and Arte.
At the Brandenburg Opera Retreat in Rheinsberg in October 2026, Bert Mario Temme will support the participating singers as an experienced and theatre-seasoned pianist and musical partner.
