Suyeon Verch

Pianist

Suyeon Verch was born in Daejeon, South Korea, in 1994. She completed her bachelor and master degrees at Seoul Municipal University under Prof. Jieun Kang. She then studied Lied interpretation with Ulrike Siedel and Olaf Bär at the Carl Maria von Weber Hochschule für Musik in Dresden. She was chosen as a Young Artist by the Uin Arthall Foundation and was engaged for a solo piano recital. After graduating, she worked as a répétiteur for the Municipal Choir of Gongju.

 

Through concerts with trumpeter Eric Aubie, violinist Youngzun Kim and baritone Heungwoo Bahk, she gained valuable experience as a collaborative pianist. She has performed numerous song recitals at the Gohliser Schlösschen in Leipzig, Greiz Oberes Schloss, Wagner-Stätte in Graupa and Schloss Maxen in Dresden. Since 2024 she has studied in the masterclass of Prof. Ulrike Siedel and Prof. Olaf Bär at the Carl Maria von Weber Hochschule für Musik in Dresden. She works as a piano teacher and accompanist at the Dippoldiswalde Music School.

Suyeon has been active as an opera repetiteur since 2023, including for Brandenburg Opera Retreat since its inception in 2024 and as a member of Musik für Musik Künstler Kollaborativ.
